Legacy Project – Sustainable Solution

As demand for Gaia Herbs’ plant-based wellness products grew, the company partnered with PurposeEnergy to strengthen the sustainability and efficiency of its manufacturing operations.

• PurposeEnergy designed and built a custom metaDigester™ (Modular Expandable Tank Array) system to treat high-strength herbal supplement wastewater, including plant residues and alcohols from botanical extraction.
• Gaia Herbs regularly undergoes third-party and FDA inspections, passing with no significant observations related to quality control or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). 
• Commissioned in February 2020, the system enables reliable wastewater treatment while supporting Gaia’s mission to blend modern science with respect for nature.

The project remains a foundational piece of infrastructure that supports continued growth, regenerative farming practices, and environmentally responsible production in North Carolina.
