Middlebury Resource Recovery Center(MRRC), Middlebury Industrial Park, Middlebury, Vermont, USA. PurposeEnergy’s first award under the Vermont Standard Offer, the MRRC will be a merchant facility, designed for both piped and trucked feedstocks. Cheese waste from Agri-Mark/Cabot cheddar, a whey plant, local brewery waste, and byproducts from distilling, hard cider and kombucha tea production will be co-digested. This plant will generate >1MW of electricity for the Vermont grid and will eliminate 278 tanker truck trips each month.
