KONA BREWERY

Kona Brewery, Kona-Kailua, Hawaii, USA. Dedicated to flows from this 100,000 barrel/year brewery, this digester has been operating since 2020. The digester has a working volume of approximately 250,000 gallons.  The biogas produced generates up to 90 kW of renewable electricity. In addition to treating wastewater, PurposeEnergy designed this system to reclaim 70% of the process water – treated to meet the State of Hawaii water reuse standards.  This water reuse enabled the doubling the production capacity of the brewery.
