PurposeEnergy is committed to open communication with the Londonderry community.
This page provides information, clarifications, and responses to questions that arise as the project moves through the public review process. Our goal is to ensure residents have accurate information, clear answers, and direct access to the project team.
PurposeEnergy is proposing a resource recovery facility in Londonderry that will convert organic residuals from food and beverage production into renewable natural gas (RNG), clean water, and beneficial soil products.
The project is designed to help regional manufacturers responsibly manage organic byproducts while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting New Hampshire’s clean energy goals.
Project Snapshot
Technology: Industrial anaerobic digestion
Output: Renewable natural gas (RNG)
Phase 1 energy: enough gas for ~2,250 homes
Feedstocks: organic residuals from food & beverage production
Environmental controls: enclosed handling and continuous monitoring
Community Questions
Will there be odors? All organic materials are handled in enclosed receiving areas with controlled air systems designed to prevent odors from leaving the building.
Will truck traffic increase? Truck access will use Harvey Road → North Wentworth to minimize residential impact.
Is the facility monitored? The system is monitored continuously with automated controls and operator oversight.
Proven Technology
PurposeEnergy has developed and operated multiple waste-to-energy facilities serving the food and beverage industry. These systems convert organic waste streams into renewable energy while reducing environmental impacts and improving wastewater quality.
PurposeEnergy believes that successful projects begin with strong relationships. We are committed to being thoughtful, transparent, and responsible neighbors in every community where we operate.
PurposeEnergy facilities are designed to meet or exceed all state and federal environmental regulations. Our systems help reduce organic waste, recover renewable energy, and return clean water to the environment.
Our technology and operational practices are built for reliability and compliance. We work closely with regulators and environmental agencies to ensure our facilities operate safely and consistently.
We value community input and aim to be accessible throughout the planning, permitting, and operational phases of a project. When questions arise, we want residents to know where to find accurate information and who to contact.
PurposeEnergy is committed to:
- operating responsibly and transparently
- complying with all state and federal regulations
- protecting environmental quality
- maintaining open communication with residents and town officials
