Mark Riley

Senior Vice President of Business Development & Strategy

Mark Riley serves as the Senior Vice President of Business Development & Strategy at PurposeEnergy, where he leads the company’s efforts to expand strategic partnerships, secure feedstock agreements, and optimize revenue streams from renewable energy products derived from organic waste. Since joining PurposeEnergy in October 2023, Mark has been instrumental in aligning the company’s growth strategy with the principles of the circular economy, helping food and beverage manufacturers reduce waste, cut greenhouse gas emissions, and convert byproducts into valuable renewable energy solutions.

With over 20 years of leadership experience in the clean energy and transportation sectors, Mark previously held a senior role at Clean Energy Fuels, where he served as Vice President of Business Development and Eastern U.S. General Manager. In this role, he drove the adoption of compressed natural gas (CNG) and renewable natural gas (RNG) vehicle solutions for some of the nation’s largest fleet operators, helping to accelerate the transition to low-carbon transportation. He also served as Vice Chair and a board member of the Canadian Natural Gas Vehicle Alliance (CNGA) from 2018 to 2023, where he championed policies and initiatives to advance sustainable fuel adoption across North America.

Mark earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Brown University, where he developed an early interest in environmental sustainability and innovative energy solutions. Based in New Hampshire, he is passionate about outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing and is committed to advancing PurposeEnergy’s mission of turning organic waste challenges into clean energy opportunities.
