In 2018, PurposeEnergy installed an industrial wastewater pretreatment system at Fiddlehead Brewery, now one of the leading craft beer makers in the US. The metaDigester™ system (Modular Expandable Tank Array Digester) at Fiddlehead is an expandable industrial anaerobic digestion solution designed to support long-term production growth in step with rising consumer demand.

Since PurposeEnergy began operating this facility, brewery production has grown 900%

• Recently completing its third modular capacity expansion, the system combines industrial anaerobic digestion with ultrafiltration to manage high-strength brewery wastewater.
• PurposeEnergy enables Fiddlehead, to discharge its treated wastewater to a sewer system that otherwise would not be able to handle the brewery’s organic load.
• The long-term partnership includes PurposeEnergy’s licensed pollution abatement officers who operate and maintain the facility.
